It's a great weekend to be in Galveston, Texas. There are so many activities and special events scheduled, it is hard to keep up. Enjoy some time in the sun on the beach, and take a break to Moody Gardens or check out the "Great Storm" on Pier 21. Visit the Texas Seaport Museum, or the Ocean Star Offshore Energy Museum.

Annual AIA Sandcastle Competition ** May 31- 28th Annual AIA Sandcastle Competition: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. For over two decades teams of architects, designers, and engineers have taken their tools to East Beach for one of the world’s largest sandcastle competitions. This year over 60 teams have their eyes and shovels set on winning the prestigious Golden Bucket Award. Held on Galveston’s East Beach. Feel free to bring your own picnic. Parking is $10 cash only.
