Galveston Island to Host 3 Nights of Fireworks, Beachfront Parade for July 4th Weekend



GALVESTON – If you’re looking for a change of scenery to celebrate Independence Day, Galveston Island is just the place to make your holiday a true get-a-way. From fireworks over the beach to a traditional hometown parade, Galveston will offer plenty of excitement for the 4th of July.
After the parade, the island will host a 20-minute fireworks show over the Gulf of Mexico near 37th Street and Seawall Boulevard. The beachfront fireworks display – sponsored by the Galveston Park Board of Trustees – will begin at 9:15 p.m.  See More
If you’re in town for the 4th of July, be sure to also check out The Curt Miller Magic & Comedy Show at the Moody Gardens Hotel. Magic, comedy and Las Vegas-style illusions will entertain you at this exciting show being offered at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. now through July 6. Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for kids ages 3-12. The Grand 1894 Opera House will kick off its July performances with the sounds of freedom as the crossover vocal trio, The Texas Tenors, brings its "Let Freedom Ring" show to the big stage July 6. Movie Night on The Strand - Saturday, Jul 6th will take place at 7 p.m.

Grab your chairs, blankets and pillows and head to downtown Galveston for a free, family-friendly movie under the stars. Movie Nite on the Strand will take place at 7 p.m. July 6, with a showing of the film Chicago at Saengerfest Park, located at the corner of 23rd and Strand streets.
